Oakland Wye
The Oakland Wye is the center of the BART system. The wye is the busiest point in the BART system. It handles trains coming from Richmond, Antioch, and Berryessa going to San Francisco, while also allowing the Richmond-Berryessa line to bypass San Francisco on the tightest curve in the system (at 18 mph).
It is the beginning of the Concord line, Alameda County Line, and Market/Mission line tracks, functioning as milepost 0 for most of the system.
The wye falls under the A05 interlocking. A general rule of thumb is that the 2 track leads into the wye, and the 1 track leads out of the wye. E.g. A green line train uses the S2 and A2 tracks to the Wye, then the M1 track to Daly City.
Technically speaking, the C3 track bypasses the wye. This track is used for the Yellow line trains heading to Antioch, which is scheduled to meet with the Orange line trains heading to Richmond.
