Dublin Line

Named the L line (for Livermore), it appears that this stretch of track will never actually make it to Livermore. The L line runs from outside Bay Fair station to the storage tracks past Dublin/Pleasanton station.

Almost the entirety of the L line is located in the median of Interstate 580, making for very loud station platforms. The distance between Castro Valley and West Dublin is about 7 miles - making it the longest distance between two stations, in the system.

The L line opened to revenue service on May 10, 1997. The only infill station,West Dublin/Pleasanton, opened in 2011.

Castro Valley

Castro Valley station opened with the rest of the line on May 10, 1997. The locale is named after Don Guillermo Castro, a  Californio ranchero. The station is an island platform with a single entrance.

Between Castro Valley and the Pleasanton stations, BART, along with 580, traverses the rather scenic Dublin Canyon.

West Dublin/Pleasanton

The title for the worst named BART station belongs to West Dublin/Pleasanton, which is habitually confused with Dublin/Pleasanton further down the line. This infill station opened on 2/19/2011 (44th station), and connects with employment, TOD housing, and the Stoneridge mall (of which is was purportedly going to be named, until various controversy). The station is an island platform with two entrances - one north to Dublin, and one south to Pleasanton and the mall.

Dublin/Pleasanton

The terminus for the line is between Dublin and Pleasanton proper, in the median of 580. The station is an island platform with a single entrance.
