Diablo Test Track Groundbreaking (1964)

The first BART track was under the Diablo Test Track, a laboratory for the evaluation of recent developments in rapid transit technologies. The technologies evaluated in the Diablo Test Track program were used to write the specifications for the rest of the BART system.
