Trucking from Mexico to New York or Califronia
From there, cars are trucked to Plattsburgh, NY or Pittsburg, CA for final assembly.
American truckers pick up the cars at Laredo, Texas.
During this step, you can tell if the car was assembled in Pittsburg, CA or New York. Cars going to the Bay Area with wheels and trucks were assembled in New York.
Cars without wheels and trucks will be assembled in Pittsburg, CA.

Final assembly of the car, including installation of undercar equipment (trucks, HVAC system, traction control, etc) occurs in one of two plants. From there, the car is trucked over to BART.

Additionally, the cars are tested on the mainline before entering revenue service.
